LOST CITY SEATTLE
On June 6, 1889 the Great Fire swept through downtown Seattle. When the final embers were extinguished, a new city was built on the smokey remains. In the labyrinth of alleys and burnt out husks an underworld of speakeasies, flop houses and opium dens took root. This soon became known as the Seattle Underground. To others, it was called the Lost City. A little over a hundred years later, a young Michael McDermott found himself traversing these same streets not knowing what lost things echoed under his worn down boots. Unbeknownst to McDermott, he was about to offer his own bit of history to the things that were lost to the Emerald City. McDermott and his band would enter London Bridge Studios with Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, Blind Melon, Alice in Chains), in the Spring of 1992. The result would be a raucous, twelve song collection that would be shelved between McDermott's change in labels from Giant to EMI. Now, thirty-one years after its recording, and 134 years since the Great Fire of Seattle, this lost collection is being returned to the surface. The Lost Seattle album is being released in a deluxe 2CD edition. In addition to the album's original twelve tracks, a second disc of sixteen bonus tracks will accompany the set. These tracks feature demos and outtakes from Seattle and Gethsemane, as well as select, rare, live tracks. As with Stories, Lies & Legends, a limited cassette-style USB will be made available, containing loads of bonus content not available anywhere else. Both the Lost Seattle Deluxe 2CD set and the Lost Seattle USB will be released on June 6, 2023, but are shipping now. The release of these two special items will coincide with Gethsemane's 30th Anniversary show at City Winery on June 8, 2023.
