I come to you with news of great joy......today in the city of David, a saviour was born unto us.........wait a minute, wait a minute......sorry that's from the bible......
So Rain, is just 17 days old and i'm happy to say its been smoother than i expected. ( sound of me knocking on wood 3 times) Despite interrupted sleep, she's been a real dream.....not much fussing.....no crying at all.....a couple squeaks......a great many diaper changes.....a couple smiles just to keep us happy........which we go absolutely insane for like a couple of lunatics......anyway......
been an interesting time actually......aside from the little one......book coming slowly......just havent worked on it at all......but shall resume soon......really been in a good writing groove song wise....with These Dreams About Trains......Pharoh's Horses....We're All In This Together and next weeks complete reworking of The SIlent will Soon Be Singing...which is finally complete.......nothing remains from the earlier version but the title......
Greenbelt is official which i am totally psyched about.......thanks to dave emmerson, david perry.....and matt suhar for getting this all sorted.....
will be a little weird leaving heather and willie for the first time for any extended period of time.......but very excited nonetheless .
Doing the cubs anthem and God bless america on sunday which will be aired nationally on wgn tv.....around 1:10-1:17pm cdt.......
lost a dear friend Tricia Walsh the other day.......she was a gal i dated back in the 90's......died at only 44 years......she will be missed......
We are doing another night of Springsteen songs on Thanksgiving weekend......there is talk of doing a show at the riverside ballroom....( where buddy holly had his second to last gig at) in green bay and then one confirmed gig at Joe's on Weed Street here in Chicago.....oughta be fun.....
Sill trying to figure out where we are doing the 620 West Surf gig.......hopefully in early december......stay tuned.....
Carry Your Cross video aired on GAC last week which was a thrill......for a video that cost absolutely nothing......made by brian fitzpatrick.....who did an amazing job and then just sent it to GAC......a station who airs video's that are made for hundreds of thousands of dollars......and based on the sheer strength of the video they decided to play it.
Dave Eggers office wrote me to say Thanks for using Dave's name in the song " Great American Novel" he loved it......said Great Lyrics.....a bit of a thrill for me i'll admit !
Many Thanks to Matt Michaelis for his tireless efforts in helping me with spreading the word......and a sad farewell to Cindy Joy Olsen who has stepped down after many years of amazing work and support.......she will be dearly missed.......much love to you both
All i can think of right now and most of this you may have already known......thanks so much guys for continuing to support on Monday Morning Madness....still wish there was more discussion on Pauper Sky.....but i already begged and that didn't work......
